Navigating your way through business communications decisions

Choosing the right business communications solutions is no longer simply a case of choosing which type of system and brand you want.

The mind-boggling array of options available today means that the importance of making the correct choice has never been more critical.

Communication behaviour is also changing. Today’s users are moving from formal meetings, booking resources and geographic limitations towards real-time collaboration, using diverse communication methods and devices, and regardless of location.

Outside of your employees the customers of SMBs are also changing how they interact and driving an excellent customer experience has become a business critical differentiator.

“When consumers hear about a product today, their first reaction is ‘Let me search online for it.’ And so they go on a journey of discovery: about a product, a service, an issue, an opportunity. Today you are not behind your competition. You are not behind the technology. You are behind your consumer.”

URGENT: Do Not Install Windows Update (circa December 8, 2015) "Black Screen of Death"
Harry's Corner
I’ve just returned from my local computer reseller, Bainbridge Technology, and I’m experiencing PTSD. When I walked in and started to talk, Brandon the owner, said “Harry Brelsford did you run Windows Update?” Apparently I was his third customer today that walked in with a laptop that had AUTOMATICALLY applied the Windows Update (8.x, 10; circa December 8, 2015) and experienced a midpoint reboot failure and a “Black Screen of Death.” That’s where the PTSD kicks in. This brought back many memories from my time in the trenches of service pack gotchas and Patch Tuesday failures. I trembled but ...

IT security framework for SMBs
News
Posted by Anurag Agrawal SMBs are not only increasingly dependent on IT – they are dependent on increasingly-interconnected systems, which are in turn open to an ever-expanding population of devices and access points. The volumes and value of data contained in these systems continues to grow, which both increases the potential damage associated with a breach, and attracts heightened attention from hackers. Techaisle’s SMB survey data finds a disconnect between security policy and security practice that creates the potential for poorly-coordinated approaches to security – an uncertainty that i...
